This was a project that the Haydn & Rollett Joinery department took great pride in, a villa upgrade that called for high-end materials, precision craftsmanship, excellent client communication and a dash of style. In the kitchen, a row of tall cabinetry built of American white oak stained to a rich, dark walnut is finished with a graceful Deco-like curve at either end.
Around the sink, the oak is replaced by a matte Ultraglaze acrylic designed to resist fingerprint marks. Above the cooktop, meanwhile, a subtle metallic paint was used to inject a semi-industrial look, as per the clients’ wishes.
The same attention to detail continues throughout the house – in the dark timber shelving and TV ‘shroud’ of the sunken living area, and the bespoke wardrobes in the bedrooms, which were crafted to harmonise with the villa’s existing features. Elsewhere, the team used a mix of melteca board and veneer for the scullery and laundry, and installed a new oak handrail on the stairs.
