The first of two warehouses built for PFI on this redeveloped brownfield property has achieved a 5 Green Star Design and As-Built NZv1.0 Design certified rating.

Waste Management Office and Facility

The Waste Management building operates at the cutting edge, with rainwater harvesting, super-efficient insulation and ventilation, and building and energy monitoring systems that enable the remote management of HVAC systems, not to mention terrific natural lighting. The building was constructed with a strong focus on sustainability, with a large number of materials selected carrying EPDs (Environmental Product Declarations) or steward programme recognition.

Auckland Film Studios

Auckland Film Studios

The Auckland Film studios are the first film studios in the world to achieve a 4 Green Star Built rating. Sustainable materials were a key contributor with a total of 18.5% of materials used having a form of third-party certification or recycled content. Low carbon concrete and best practice PVC products were also used throughout. Other initiatives included extensive energy and water metering, rainwater harvesting, high quality lighting, high indoor air quality and EV chargers.

Pavillion Drive

Pavillion Drive

These Pavillion Drive warehouses and offices are rated Greenstar 5, with certified, responsibly sourced building materials and a slew of other sustainability features such as solar panels and water harvesting tanks.

Acoustic internal finishes and double glazing ensure comfort, LED lighting is provided throughout, working spaces receive a generous amount of natural light, and there is provision for EV car charging.

9 Jerry Green

Jerry Green

The Greenstar 5 rated buildings at Jerry Green Street feature sustainable, responsibly sourced building materials, acoustic internal finishes and double glazing; ensuring a high level of thermal and acoustic comfort.

Additional sustainability elements include solar panels — generating sufficient renewable energy to offset approximately 30% of annual energy consumption — LED lighting throughout, along with plentiful daylight streaming into working spaces, water collection and reticulation, and ventilation 50% above the NZ Building Code.

Halsey Street

Halsey Street

The complex at 132 Halsey St achieved a 7 Homestar rating on the strength of several features, including year-round passive thermal comfort provided by apartment orientation and highly insulated walls systems. The apartments incorporate energy efficient lights that combine motion sensors and timers, while fixtures and fittings have best practice Homestar scores for WELS or energy star ratings. More than 83% of waste was recycled during construction.

Allegion

Constructed on remediated land that was subsequently heavily planted in natives, the Allegion building has wonderful natural lighting thanks to the inclusion of high performance glass coupled with large roof overhangs and louvre bays for solar shading. It also incorporates low water-use plumbing fittings and an ultra-high efficiency VFR system that maintains excellent air quality, as well as EV chargers, photocells and time clocks to optimise exterior lighting.

Carlaw Park Commercial Precinct

Designed and built to meet the NZGBC 4 Green Star standard, the Carlaw Park office in Parnell incorporates sun louvres and performance glazing to ensure thermal and acoustic comfort, as well as energy efficient lighting and air conditioning, water efficient fixtures along with numerous other sustainable features. Throughout construction, pains were taken to minimise construction waste and recycle materials.
