The most striking aspect of this project for an Auckland apartment was the sheer heft of the wall unit involved. Six metres wide and full height, it occupies the entire wall between two entry points to the lounge.

Built in three parts, it proved too large to get up the stairs and had to be craned to an adjacent balcony. Despite the outsized scale, the joinery work was precise. All the joins are well-disguised,< and there’s a clever sliding door for hiding the TV when it’s not in use.
